“DAIKEN R&D Center” is the first in Japan to receive “WELL Performance Rating” / DAIKEN CORPORATION
DAIKEN CORPORATION (head office: Kita-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, President: Masanori Yomita), a building materials manufacturer, announced in April 2024 that it will develop a new technology that specializes in building indoor environmental quality at the DAIKEN R&D Center, its research and development base. Obtained the WELL Performance Rating (WPR) evaluation system. WELL Performance Rating is a building space evaluation system developed by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), a U.S. public utility company. The building will be evaluated through evidence-based third-party verification from six perspectives: "indoor air quality, water quality management, lighting measurement, thermal conditions, acoustic performance, and tenant experience." This is the first time in Japan that this evaluation has been obtained, and the ninth such case, including overseas. In order to obtain the WPR certification, we received recognition for adjusting the illumination in the office space and installing sensors to visualize the air quality and thermal environment. In addition, the existing work environment was evaluated in various evaluation points, including the sound environment.
